Dhaka, Dec. 19 -- Mobs went on the rampage in the Bangladesh capital and in several other places late on Thursday night to protest the death of Inqilab Moncho leader Sharif Osman Hadi. Protesters ransacked the offices of Prothom Alo and The Daily Star in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar area around midnight on Thursday and set them ablaze. They also marched to the Assistant Indian High Commission building in Chattogram, and burned down the offices and homes of Awami League officials.
Chanting slogans including "Boycott, boycott, India boycott," "Burn down Awami League dens," "One Hadi is gone, thousands of Hadis will rise," "Why did Hadi die? Administration must answer," and "Hadi's blood will not go in vain", the protesters went on the rampage.
