Aizawl, Feb. 19 -- The Mizoram government has identified 54 villages across the state that continue to remain outside the reach of mobile and internet connectivity, the Assembly was informed on Thursday, as authorities outlined a roadmap to bridge the digital gap within thenext four years.

Responding to a question raised by Mizo National Front legislator Prova Chakma, Minister for Information and Communication Technology Vanlalthlana said data from the Department of Telecommunications under the Government of India confirms that 54 villages currently lack mobile or internet signal. Of these, 21 villages are presently uninhabited.
