Aizawl, Feb. 20 -- Mizoram on Friday commemorated its 39th Statehood Day with prayer gatherings and thanksgiving services held across the state, even as no official ceremonial functions were organised to mark the occasion.
In Aizawl, the central observance took place at Lammual, formerly known as the Assam Rifles parade ground, where the State Day of Prayer Committee organised a mass prayer and worship service.
Similar programmes were held simultaneously at all district headquarters, reflecting a collective spirit of gratitude and renewal among the people.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma addressed the congregation at Lammual. He was joined by members of his Cabinet, legislators and senior government officials.
