Aizawl, March 16 -- The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) government in Mizoram has raised loans amounting to Rs 5,390.30 crore from various sources since assuming office on December 8, 2023, Chief Minister Lalduhoma informed the state Legislative Assembly on Monday.

In a written reply to a question from Leader of the Opposition Lalchhandama Ralte, the Chief Minister, who also holds the finance portfolio, said the borrowings were made through several channels, including Open Market Borrowing (OMB) and institutional loans from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), as well as funding under Externally Aided Projects (EAP) and the Special Assistance to States for ...
