Aizawl, Feb. 4 -- The Mizoram government has decided to drop 80 incomplete projects under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) in a move aimed at formally closing the flagship village development scheme in the state.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) held on Tuesday at the New Secretariat Complex under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena.

Officials said the projects proposed for deletion were part of the original Village Development Plans (VDPs) prepared under SAGY but could not be completed within the stipulated timeframe due to a combination of over-ambitious planning and persistent funding constraints.
