Aizawl, Sept. 24 -- The Lunglei district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed deep concern over the arrest and detention of a missionary from Mizoram in Roing, Arunachal Pradesh, and assured that the party is making all out efforts to secure his release.
Speaking to reporters in Lunglei today, BJP district president R. Lalbiaktluangi detailed the incident, which began on the night of July 9, 2025, when a miscreant allegedly broke into the Mt. Carmel School hostel, run by the Baptist Church of Mizoram.
The individual is accused of molesting schoolgirls, leading to his arrest by local police. However, an enraged mob stormed the police station, seized the suspect, and lynched him to death.
