Aizawl, Sept. 28 -- Lalneihsangi, fondly known as 'Pi Buangi,' who was recently recognised as the oldest living Mizo, died due to old-age complications on Saturday night at the Ebenezer Medical Centre, a private hospital in Aizawl, according to family sources.

He was 108.

Pi Buangi had celebrated her remarkable 108th birthday on September 14 at the Aijal Club, surrounded by her family, friends, and well-wishers. The occasion marked a significant milestone in her life, reflecting the love and admiration she received from those around her.

Earlier this month, Mizoram's State Social Welfare Minister, Lalrinpuii, had officially declared Pi Buangi as the oldest living Mizo following a departmental verification.
