Bahraich, April 18 -- In a suspected case of human trafficking, personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) successfully rescued a 15-year-old Nepali girl and detained a 20-year-old youth at the Rupaidih border area in Bahraich district.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Border Outpost (BOP) Rupaidih and the Border Investigating Team, officials said on Friday.
According to officials, the incident took place on Thursday at around 7:30 PM at the Rupaidih check post, where the team intercepted a Nepali minor girl and a young man entering India from Nepal.
During questioning, inconsistencies were found in their statements, raising suspicion of possible human trafficking.
