Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- A 12-year-old girl from Bangladesh was allegedly raped by 200 people and rescued by the neghbouring Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Mumbai police with assistance from NGOs, officials said today.

Ten people, including six Bangladeshi nationals, have been arrested in this connection. Two of those nabbed are women, who are suspected of facilitating her illegal entry into India.

The Mira-Bhayander Vasai-Virar (MBVV) police rescued the girl with help from NGOs Exodus Road India Foundation and Harmony Foundation.

The victim was allegedly forced into prostitution and trafficked to different locations, including Navi Mumbai, Pune in Maharashtra and Nadiad in Gujarat, officials said here.
