Pune, Jan. 9 -- Minimum temperatures across large parts of the country remained significantly below normal, with marked cold conditions reported in several regions on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department.

Minimum temperatures were markedly below normal (by 5.0degC or more) at isolated places over Odisha, the IMD said in its daily bulletin.

Temperatures were appreciably below normal (between 5.0degC and 3.1degC below normal) at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, while a few places in Telangana also experienced similar conditions.
