Prayagraj, Jan. 23 -- Basant Panchami,the festival which heralds the arrival of spring and commemoration of Goddess Saraswati, who presides over knowledge,is being celebrated in the Sangam city on Friday with great ferver and devotion.
On this occasion, a large number of devotees across the country have congregated to take a holy dip in the sacred river of Saraswati located in Prayagraj. It has also been estimated that around 20 million devotees would take a dip in the Sangam during Basant Panchami as part of Magh Mela.
