Shillong, Jan. 29 -- The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) on Thursday announced that it will launch its own Shillong-based academy as part of its continued commitment to strengthening grassroots football development in the state.
The MFA Academy will focus on "structured training, long-term player development and creating a strong pathway for young footballers in Meghalaya to progress through the state and national football ecosystem", the association said in a statement.
In this regard, the MFA will conduct open trials for young boys born between 2013 and 2016 to identify promising football talent and induct them into the academy.
