Wellington, Feb. 16 -- New Zealand have appointed all-rounder Melie Kerr as their new white-ball captain, replacing veteran Sophie Devine, who stepped down after the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup last year.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Kerr, a key figure in the White Ferns setup, has represented New Zealand in 172 internationals, scoring 3,757 runs and taking 201 wickets across formats. Her first assignment as a full-time skipper will be the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe later this month.
