Srinagar, Oct. 10 -- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to bring a bill in the Assembly to protect land saying people have lived in "constant insecurity" since 2019.
Addressing reporters, Mehbooba said her party has introduced a private member's bill to address the issue, but added that the government, which enjoys a majority in the House, should take the initiative instead.
"We have made a small effort by bringing a bill, but it is the government's responsibility to come forward with its own but not the one like a private member bill. If you don't like our bill, bringyours - but bring something that safeguards the rights of the people," she said.
