Tura, March 13 -- The situation in violence-hit Tura, the district headquarters of West Garo Hills, in Meghalaya is limping back to normalcy with no report of any untoward incident being reported, officials said on Friday.
However, in order to maintain peace and security and to prevent the recurrence of violence or any untoward incidents, the curfew has been further extended from 6:00 am of March 14, 2026 to 6:00 am until March 15, Vibhor Aggarwal, the district magistrate of West Garo Hills, said.
During this period, a relaxation of curfew will be allowed from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on March 14, 2026 to facilitate public movement and enable residents to attend to essential activities.
