Shillong, May 11 -- The North-Eastern Hill University Teachers' Association (NEHUTA) has urged union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan not to extend the service of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, which expires on July 26, 2026.
In its letter to Pradhan, NEHUTA also flagged the Ministry of Education's delay in advertising the Vice-Chancellor's post at NEHU, despite the Department of Higher Education having written to the Registrar on February 18 to initiate the appointment process.
However, more than two and a half months later, the advertisement has not been released in the public domain, the association said.
