Shillong, Feb. 19 -- Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Thomas Sangma on Thursday declined to admit a motion on a "personal explanation" sought by opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) legislator Brightstarwell Marbaniang on the recent blast in an illegal coal mine at Mynsngat-Thangsko area in East Jaintia Hills district.
This is the second time in the ongoing budget session that the Speaker rejected any discussion on the February 5 coal mine dynamite explosion that claimed the lives of 33 mine workers.
