Shillong, Jan. 19 -- Meghalaya Police have submitted a report to Justice (retired) Brojendra Prasad Katakey regarding the death of a coal miner from Assam in an illegal coal mine in East Jaintia Hills district, police said today.
The coal miner, identified as one Mosaid Ali (48), a resident of Jamuna Moudanga, Nagaom, Hojai district, died on January 14. The police have registered a suo moto case in this regard.
Police have arrested one Sahanaj Uddin, the supervisor of the illegal coal mine at Umthe area. Uddin is a resident of Bhairabpur, Kalain, Cachar district of Assam.
