Shillong, Sept. 11 -- Meghalaya Police have filed a charge sheet against a 35-year-old Lance Naik of Assam police for allegedly sexual assault a girl child, police said on Thursday.
The charge sheet was filed on Wednesday, just 13 days after the incident that took place in a village under Block-II, within the jurisdiction of Mawlasnai Police Outpost in Ri-Bhoi district, Vivekanand Singh Rathore, the district police chief of Ri-Bhoi, said.
Lance Naik Projen Langthasa of 18th Armed Police Battalion allegedly committed the heinous crime in a village under Block-II under the jurisdiction of Mawlasnai police outpost in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district on August 27.
