Shillong, Dec. 24 -- The Meghalaya government has directed the Border Security Force (BSF) and Meghalaya Police to further upscale their security measures and place troops on high alert along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya.
Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home, Prestone Tynsong said the fresh instruction was issued after four Bangladeshi criminals intruded into Indian territory and robbed residents of Umniuh Tmar, a border village in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district, on December 17.
The Bangladeshi criminals looted five Indian villagers, including four women at gunpoint. They robbed gold earrings, mobile phones, and tablets.
