Shillong, July 9 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that his government's vision is to ensure that Shillong becomes the next "football capital of India", a football powerhouse in the country.



Speaking at the unveiling of the three magnificent domestic football tournaments- the Durand Cup, the Shimla Trophy and the President's Cup here today, Sangma said that his government has supported sports activities in the state.

Sangma said that the way his government has supported sports during the past seven years, has been very different from what took place before that.
