Shillong, Nov. 20 -- Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge Transport, Sniawbhalang Dhar, on Wednesday announced that the government will bear all medical expenses of the two North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) students, who were critically injured in a car accident on the university campus.
"I have assured the families of the injured students that the government will cover the full cost of treatment, including if the patients need to be referred outside the state for advanced care," Dhar said after visiting the two injured students at Nazareth Hospital.
The accident happened on Monday.
The victims have been identified as Daritngen Ponduhkhei (20) and Stephanie Shadap (22), both from the Chemistry Department.
