Shillong, March 23 -- The Meghalaya government has been cooperating with the Assam government in the run-up to assembly elections in the neighbouring state.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that all deputy commissioners, especially in the border areas, have been asked to keep in contact with the Assam counterparts.
" Meghalaya would ensure a peaceful situation along the inter-state boundary areas during the Assam elections," Tynsong assured.
"We will ensure that people of our state are safe, are peaceful and security will always be there," he added.
