Shillong, March 21 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has written to his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma proposing to form a joint committee with Assam to mitigate sources of pollution in Byrnihat town.
Byrnihat, an industrial town on the Assam-Meghalaya border, has been designated as the "most polluted city in the world", as per the World Air Quality Report 2024 by Swiss technology company IQAir.
