Shillong, Oct. 31 -- Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today inaugurated the first academic session of the College of Engineering marking a major milestone in the state's higher and technical education sector.
Housed inside the campus of the Shillong Polytechnic at Mawlai in the outskirt of the city, the Shillong Government College of Engineering is also first engineering college in Meghalaya.
Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, Arts and Culture Minister, Sanbor Shullai, Chief Secretary, Dr. Shakil Ahammed and other officials were present during the inauguration.
