Shillong, Jan. 15 -- District authorities in Meghalaya's Eastern West Khasi Hills has prohibited the transportation, storage, sale or distribution of fish illegally imported from Bangladesh.
In her order, District Magistrate of Eastern West Khasi Hills Anita Kharpor also banned the use of any vehicle, vessel or boat, as well as assisting, harbouring or facilitating individuals or groups involved in such illegal activities within the district.
The prohibitory order passed under Section 163 BNSS said illegal transportation of migrants and fish from Bangladesh is taking place through various border routes, riverine channels, roads, and market points within the state.
