Shillong, Feb. 16 -- The National People's Party (NPP) on Monday released its first list of 24 candidates for the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections.
NPP issued the notification after its State Election Committee cleared the names of 24 candidates for the GHADC polls, which are slated to be held in April.
Declaring the list, NPP working president and cabinet minister Marcuise N. Marak said the party denied ticket to the incumbent Chief Executive Member of GHADC Albinush Marak, citing doubts over his winnability in the upcoming polls, and allotted the party ticket to Calis G. Momin.
