Lucknow, Feb. 11 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday criticized the Uttar Pradesh Budget for the financial year 2026-27, describing it as "more populist than practical" and lacking a concrete roadmap for the real upliftment of the people and balanced development across all sections of society.
In a statement issued after the budget was presented in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Mayawati said that while several announcements and assurances have been made, their value will depend entirely on time-bound and effective implementation. "The schemes and promises should not remain confined to paper. The government must ensure proper execution within a fixed timeline," she said.
