Lucknow, Feb. 25 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday expressed strong objection to the reported action taken by the Income Tax Department against party MLA Umashankar Singh, calling the move "unfortunate" and "inhuman" given his serious health condition.
In a statement posted on X, Mayawati said that Umashankar Singh has discharged his responsibilities with complete honesty and dedication since joining the Bahujan Samaj Party. She asserted that no complaints have ever emerged from his constituency regarding the illegal acquisition of property or involvement in any wrongdoing.
