Bhubaneswar, March 19 -- In a significant stride towards India's clean energy transition, Matikhala village in Odisha's Ganjam district, has become fully solarised, emerging as a model for rural renewable energy adoption under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (ULA Model).
Implemented by TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), the initiative demonstrates how decentralized solar solutions can transform rural livelihoods while advancing India's sustainability goals.
Located under Kanamana Panchayat in Chhatrapur block, the village now has 200 eligible households equipped with rooftop solar connections, each with a 1 kW solar system.
