Kolkata, March 29 -- A day after the publication of the third supplementary list the Chief Electoral Officer's office confirmed that nearly 18 lakh voters have so far been removed after adjudication in the first three supplementary lists published by the commission.
Sources in the Commission said that with the deletion of 18 lakh names flagged under "logical discrepancy" during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, the total number of deletions has climbed to a staggering 82 lakh.
However, the confirmation from the poll body has given some clarity to figures that had remained uncertain for weeks.
