Amravati, Jan. 6 -- A massive fire broke out following an explosion at a chemical manufacturing unit in the Amravati MIDC area on Badnera Road on Tuesday morning, killing one woman worker and critically injuring another, officials said.
The incident occurred at around 10 a.m. at Gopi Industries, a unit engaged in the manufacture of chemical thinner.
According to preliminary information, a sudden blast inside the factory triggered a fire that spread rapidly across the premises while several employees were at work.
Seven women workers were reportedly present inside the unit at the time of the incident. One of them, identified as Sonali Sunil Kodape (29), a resident of Wardha district, was unable to escape and succumbed to severe burn injur...
