Ranchi, Feb. 10 -- Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari, along with the union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, on Tuesday virtually inaugurated the Mass Drug Administration (MDA) programme aimed at eliminating filariasis from the state.

The campaign has been launched across 14 filariasis-affected districts covering 91 blocks, with the objective of protecting nearly 1.75 crore people from the disease.

Addressing the launch event, Ansari described filariasis as a serious public health concern and said the state government is committed to its eradication.
