Imphal, July 3 -- Four organisations of Manipur have submitted a joint memorandum to the Union Home Minister, Government of India today urging him not to renew the Suspension of Operations (SoO) Agreements with armed militant groups.

The signatories allege that these groups have consistently violated the terms of the agreements and were actively involved in the outbreak of violence in Manipur on May 3, 2023, particularly in Churachandpur and surrounding areas like Torbung and Kanvai. The four bodies include all communities including Naga, Thadou, Meitei, Muslim of Manipur.
