Imphal, Oct. 13 -- Manipur government has decided to form a committee to restore Manipur Palace at Shillong after it was demolished recently.
Inspite of appeals from former union Minister RK Ranjan, various organizations of Manipur the Red Land, the Royal Palace used by Manipur kings was demolished.
As public uproar increased over the demolition, the Manipur government today clarified that recognizing the historical and cultural significance of the Manipur Palace in Shillong, the Government of Manipur had announced a comprehensive project for the InfrastructureDevelopment of Heritage Complex, Rajbari, Shillong in 2022.
