Imphal, Jan. 12 -- Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Manipur staged a protest on Monday over what they described as the continued inaction of the state administration in addressing their unresolved issues.
The protesters later met the Governor K Bhalla and apprised him of their demands.
Manipur government had announced that all IDPs will be able to return home by Dec 31, 2025 however the IDPs are not able to return home.
As the IDPs tried to march towards the Lok Bhawan they were stopped by police and a delegation of 11 members met Governor.
The IDPs informed that they appraised the Governor of the hardships they face as they are languishing in relief camps since May 3, 2023 when violence started at Churachandpur district.
