Imphal, Feb. 14 -- Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday announced that the State Government is committed to develop a world-class polo ground at Lamphelpat in Imphal West.
Though it is the dream of every polo player to play in Manipur as modern polo originated in Manipur there is no proper polo ground of international standard.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 2nd Dr. Ksh. Chourjit Singh Inter-District Polo Tournament, 2026, held at Mapal Kangjeibung and organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA), Imphal.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that it is well known that the game of polo originated in Manipur.
