Imphal, March 2 -- A total of 42 different types of weapons, various ammunitions/munitions, and other miscellaneous items were voluntarily surrendered by the public to Imphal West, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Bishnupur, and Tamenglong District police during the last 24 hours.
Police said on Sunday that the arms included 303 Rifle, DBBL, SBBL, Grenade, . 32 Pistol (Country made) , Pompi gun, walkie talkie, INSAS Rifle Magazine, 7.62 mm Ghatak Rifle.
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas and one 5.56 mm INSAS LMG with one Magazine loaded with 20 rounds of 5.56 mm Ammunition, one AK-56 Rifle and others were recovered from Sairemkhul area under Lamshang-PS, Imphal West Dist...
