Manchester, Feb. 22 -- Manchester City kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal with a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

City capitalised on Arsenal's midweek draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers to close the gap at the top of the table to two points, thanks to a brace from Nico O'Reilly in the first half, as per the Premier League website.

The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute when O'Reilly finished powerfully after being set up by Omar Marmoush.

Newcastle responded eight minutes later through Lewis Hall, whose deflected effort beat goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to restore parity.
