Shimla, March 25 -- Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Wednesday acknowledged that tourist hubs like Manali and Shimla are facing mounting challenges in scientific garbage waste management, asserting that the government would prioritise sustainable disposal systems while incorporating suggestions from MLAs.

Replying to concerns raised in the Assembly, Urban Development Minister Vikarmaditya Singh described that Manali is a "window of the state" and stressed that both solid waste and liquid waste must be managed in an environmentally sound manner. He informed the House that 68 sanitation works and 27 vehicles have already been deployed in Manali to strengthen waste handling mechanisms.
