Mumbai, Oct. 30 -- Rohit Arya, who held 19 people hostage, including 17 children and a female senior citizen, in Mumbai's Powai suburb today noon, died during treatment at a hospital after he was shot on the chest by Assistant Police Inspector Amol Waghmare, based at Powai police station, according to Mumbai police sources.
The accused opened fire on the police using a pellet gun after which Assistant Police Inspector Waghmare retailated, Mumbai police sources said.
