Unnao, Jan. 14 -- A 42-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife to death following a domestic dispute and later died by suicide by hanging himself from the roof of his house at the Bangarmau Kotwali area of UP's Unnao district, police said.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning in Naunihal Ganj locality. According to police and family members, the couple had been frequently arguing with each other for a long time. On Tuesday evening as well, an argument broke out after the husband returned home allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Family members and neighbors intervened and managed to calm the situation.
