Ranchi, Sept. 7 -- A tragic incident was reported from the Mahuadand police station area of Latehar district, where former block president Ramnath Yadav died after being struck by lightning today.
According to police sources, Yadav had gone to graze cattle with his wife, Shobha Devi, when sudden heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning struck the area. Yadav died on the spot, while his wife and a herdsman sustained serious injuries. Both injured persons are now stated to be out of danger.
Yadav's family members, driven by superstition, removed his body from the hospital and buried it in cow dung, believing he might return to life. Upon receiving information, police and administrative officials reached the spot and tried to convince the fam...
