Kolkata, May 4 -- Amid a visible downslide of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the Assembly poll trends, outgoing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday urged party candidates and workers not to lose heart, asserting that the early leads in favour of the BJP were expected and the final outcome would turn in the TMC's favour.

According to trends from the morning until around 12:30 pm, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in more than 190 seats, while the TMC was ahead in fewer than 90 constituencies.

Against this backdrop, Banerjee reached out to party candidates and counting agents through a video message on social media, asking them to remain at counting centres and stay vigilant.
