Kolkata, Feb. 4 -- In a significant development, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to be present in the Supreme Court on Wednesday for the hearing of the SIR-related cases.
Sources in Trinamool Congress said a gate pass has been issued in her name by the apex court, indicating that her presence during the proceedings is almost certain.
The Supreme Court website shows that the matter will be heard by a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Jaymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul M Pancholi.
A petition filed by Trinamool Congress MPs Derek O'Brien and Dola Sen is listed as item number 21 in Court No. 1 before the Chief Justice's bench.
