Hyderabad, April 28 -- A major fire broke out at a sofa manufacturing unit in Kishan Bagh under Bahadurpura Police Station limits on Tuesday, causing extensive property damage and panic among residents in the densely populated locality.
Police said, flames erupted suddenly and spread rapidly within minutes, engulfing the entire unit and filling the area with thick smoke. Locals alerted the fire department, following which firefighters rushed to the spot with multiple fire engines and launched efforts to put out the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby houses.
The workshop and furniture worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in the incident. No casualties were reported.
