Los Angeles, Dec. 6 -- The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has voiced serious concerns about Netflix's proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, warning that the merger could significantly reduce theatrical content and harm India's cinema landscape, reports Variety.

In a formal statement, the association, which represents multiplex chains across the country, said that placing a major Hollywood studio under a streaming giant poses competitive and economic risks to India's theatrical sector.
