Tirupati, Feb. 26 -- As part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavam of Sri Kapileswara Swamy in Tirupati, the Mahashivratri festival was celebrated with utmost religious fervour on Wednesday.

Keeping in view the devout rush, special queues, cool roofs, and parking areas have been arranged.

Sarvadarshan commenced at 6 am for the devotees in the temple.

As part of Brahmotsavam, the Bhogiteru procession was held at 7 am.

Rathotsavam was conducted in the city streets amidst the jubilant performance by bhajan mandals and other artists.

After that, from 11 am to 12 noon, the priests performed Snapana Tirumanjanam.

Sri Soma Skandamurthy and Sri Kamakshi Devi were offered Abhishekam with milk, curd, honey, Panchamritam and sandalwood.
