New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today said that Maharishi Valmiki, through his immortal epic, the Ramayana, showed society the path of ideals, righteousness, and compassion. Gupta has announced that from now on, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti will be observed as a public holiday in Delhi every year, allowing citizens to celebrate the festival with full devotion and enthusiasm.
She further informed that, for the first time, the Delhi Government has extended support to a large number of organisations to ensure that this year's celebrations are held on a historic scale across the capital.
