Mumbai, Jan. 31 -- The Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department has withdrawn the 'no work, no pay' policy applicable to surplus teaching and non-teaching staff in minority educational institutions, providing significant relief to the affected employees.

The decision was formalised through a Government Resolution (GR), modifying an earlier government resolution dated July 13, 2016.

The 'no work, no pay' provision was introduced through the July 13, 2016 government decision and was applicable to additional teaching and non-teaching staff in minority schools whose adjustment was pending. As a result, such employees had not been receiving salaries for extended periods while awaiting adjustment.
